Library

"Books are the carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, thought and speculation at a standstill. Without books, the development of civilization would have been impossible. They are engines of change (as the poet said), windows on the world and lighthouses erected in the sea of time. They are companions, teachers, magicians, bankers of the treasures of the mind. Books are humanity in print." Barbara W Tuchman

We totally agree and endorse reading as the key skill for learning! This is just one reason for taking all of our children along to Strood Library on a regular rota. KS1 classes generally go on Monday afternoons and KS2 on Wednesdays. We encourage all children to be members of the library and to look forward to the opportunity of taking out books to enjoy at home (and other interesting places too!!!!).

From time to time we also get involved in other activities such as reading challenges and competitions in conjunction with the library. We also urge parents to take their children to Strood Library in between the school visits and definitely within the holiday periods.
