Summer is a time for the beach! We want to celebrate the end of Primary School with a trip to Margate including time on the beach at Minnis Bay.
This will take place on Tuesday 18th July and is open to all of our Year 6 children.
We'll be leaving at 9am, splitting our day between the beach and the arcades in Margate to have some machine fun. There will be chance to get an ice cream too!
Following this we are looking to organise tea from a fish and chip shop and enjoy eating this back on the beach.
Hopefully we can do all this and get back to school for 7 to 7:30pm. We need to ask for a donation to cover the cost of those wanting food for their tea. This will be £7. We won't be able to provide a chip shop meal to your child if the donation hasn't been received. If your child doesn't want goodies from the chip shop then please pack additional food for the evening.
Children will need to have plenty of water to drink, suitable clothing, plenty of sun cream and a hat. As well as this they will need change of clothes and towel, beach toys (best if labelled) and a packed lunch. They will also need to bring money for an ice cream and for using in the arcades. This needs to be kept securely in some sort of wallet or purse.
We are taking all of our classroom staff with us for the day and so there isn't any alternate provision at the school on the day. If your child doesn't want to join in with the occasion then please feel free to keep them at home for the day.
Next week is obviously the last week of your child's primary school experience and we want to invite you along to share some of the last days with them.
Firstly, the children have put together a special production that will be on show on Monday 17th. There are two opportunities to see this - at 2pm and at 6pm. We request that you return your child to school at 5:45 on Monday so that they can perform in the evening.
We aren't creating tickets for the event but please can you use this form to let us know if you are planning to join us.
We will then be holding a special 'Leavers Assembly' starting at 10:15am on Friday 21st July. This should last for about an hour. Bring tissues! Following the special assembly you can choose to take your child home to celebrate as a family or they are welcome to remain and enjoy the remaining few hours of their primary school days!! The choice is yours!
