France trip dates confirmed!

Following feedback from parents about the desire for a French residential we are pleased to confirm it will happen again this year!

France Trip Information

We take Year 6 children to France for a week to enable a cultural residential experience which is different to the more adventurous opportunities we provide.

Children get to experience French life, activities and to visit various places that are just so different to places you can go to in Kent. And to top it all - we get to try out and develop language skills in a real context.

We stay at Centre d’Hardelot in the town of Neufchatel which is just outside Boulogne. The accommodation is of a very high standard with all food cooked from healthy and fresh ingredients and with a definite French flavour! We follow an exciting itinerary of events which include visiting places like a sweet factory, Nausicaa sea-life centre, snail farm, swimming, shopping and generally experiencing French culture.

The centre is in a beautiful location and provides plenty of fresh air and activities like boules. It is a great experience - very busy with quite a bit of travelling to and fro.

We have previously travelled from school in our minibuses, usually opting for a ferry crossing. The centre is about an hour away from Calais. This year we need to hire in coach travel as it is very complicated to arrange staff drivers for minibuses in France.

Being France, everyone MUST have a passport and this needs to have at least three months validity left on it from the date we travel. It isn't possible to arrange passports for anyone without one although we are happy to verify identity. If you need to apply for one then this must be done as soon as possible but there is no guarantee that you can get one completed in time!

We will only be organising one week which means places will be limited to a maximum of 34 children. At least four members of school staff will accompany the children.

The cost of the trip is approximately £450 per child (which includes meals, transport, insurance and entry to all activities)

Please note - We are restricted to a certain number of places based on transport and accommodation.

We will do our best to take all who want to go but some may be disappointed. We will only confirm places once a deposit has been received.

The full cost of the trip needs to be paid at least 2 weeks before departure. You will be able to pay in weekly or monthly instalments if you so wish.

Children will need Euros if they want to buy any souvenirs. There is no opportunity to change pounds to Euros during the trip.

To secure a place on the residential visit you will need to complete the online form which can be accessed here.

This is different to any form you may have already completed!

Once we have received this we will set up an account through ‘SchoolMoney’ and ask you to make a deposit of £50 to be paid asap.

Please note that the school is charged for any cancellations and so money paid can’t be refunded unless for exceptional circumstances.
