Breakfast and After School clubs

As you know, school will be far from 'normal' for some time to come. Wrap around childcare will be different from previous.

We need to try and provide the breakfast and after school care as this enables parents to manage childcare. However, we also need to consider ways of minimising 'mixing' and overcrowding.

Our plan is to operate a group within each 'family' with a maximum of 15 children in a group. We may also need a 'staff group' too if there are too many others to be included within the family.

Staff can still access free childcare as needed for the days/times that you are in school but please make sure you pre-arrange it with the office.

We potentially need to operate a breakfast and after-school session in one classroom of each family - the extended club will take place in WASPs room from 4:30.

Our biggest problem is staffing it!

If any support staff are willing to do additional hours to help cover either (or both) sessions please let us know. We need somebody from the family to avoid further mixing/contact.

After-school sessions may well take place in the hall/studio; RE room/music room depending on numbers and will run until 4:30. The extended club will run until 5:30pm in the Wasps room. Although we haven't confirmed it yet we are most likely to allow parents to collect at any time to avoid the congregating of parents at 4:30.

Parents will have to sign up and pay in advance at £4 per session so there can't be any last minute additions.

As soon as we can return to normal routines and timings we will and so any additional work completed for the childcare won't be contracted but paid as overtime. With Di now moving into a GTP teacher role she will be stepping away from the childcare and so there is need to find a replacement for organising the after-school club. If this is something you may be interested in doing permanently then have a chat with CF. It would be a contracted role from 3:15pm to 6pm every day to reflect 'normal' structure!
