This year we have a small number of spaces to take reasonably confident swimmers to complete the challenge of swimming a set distance without stopping! These distances range from 100m to the gold standard Big Splash Mile (a total of 64 lengths!). Each child needs to select their challenge and once signed up cannot be changed. The full range of distance challenges are 100m, 200m, 400m, 600m, 800m, 1000m and the mile! Certificates and badges will be awarded to those achieving their targetted distance!
We can only take children who are able to swim at least 100 metres (that's 4 lengths) without needing to stop.
This event takes place on Sunday 21st January 2018, meeting at school for 8am (yes, we know!!!!) and returning for about 10:45am.
Please complete this form to request a place for your child and we will then get back in touch to confirm if they have a place. There is a charge of £3.50 which is payable on confirmation of place (through SchoolMoney). This is to cover the cost of the certificate and badge. This cost will apply even if unsuccessful!
Nothing beyond usual swimming kit is needed (please note - school swim hat needed for this). Lockers are available with a £1 coin (it is returned) and vending machines may be a possibility too! No fizzy drinks please
